Your first heart? Understanding the next step is easier

We added a hint next to profile reactions in people suggestions. It explains a simple rule: mutual hearts open a chat. If you are new to JaTy, you do not have to guess what the buttons mean. The hint draws attention to expressing interest and helps you move from looking at a profile to taking a first step towards a connection.

People are what matters on a dating site, but the way available features are presented matters too. You can read a description, look at a photo and decide whether to send someone a heart. Clearer reactions help you use this feature at your own pace, without having to learn every convention of dating apps.

This improves an existing feature that you can use for free. You do not need to buy a plan to show interest. When that interest is mutual, you can start a conversation and find out whether you share something beyond a first impression. That is what free online dating should make possible: a chance to get to know each other.

A refreshed homepage and consistent navigation

We redesigned the homepage and organised information about meeting people on JaTy. Key features have clear sections of their own. Questions and answers can be expanded, and longer explanations are there when you need them. You can start with a quick overview and explore the details afterwards.

The homepage and new information pages share a header and footer. The logo, main links and information about the site stay in familiar places. A separate section menu connects the information pages, while the footer gives you access to comparisons, JaTy’s story and updates without having to start searching again.

We also paid attention to smaller screens. Text, buttons and sections adapt to a phone, and longer explanations do not all have to compete for attention. We want our Polish dating site to be convenient both for someone having a quick look and for someone who wants to understand how it works before joining.

Dating site comparisons and more information in two languages

We added comparisons of JaTy with Tinder, Badoo, Sympatia and Facebook Dating. They bring together differences in costs, available features and approaches to privacy. Choose a service you already know and discover what an independent alternative offers. Tables and answers to common questions help you find specific information within a longer article.

We also expanded our about page. It explains where the idea for JaTy came from, why we develop a free dating site and what independence means to us. It is a place for people who want to know more about the service they choose for their new connections. Alongside our story, you will find links to our rules and contact page.

The new material is available in Polish and English. The language switcher in the footer takes you to the corresponding version of the same page, and internal links let you keep reading in your selected language. This is useful when sharing JaTy with someone who does not read Polish comfortably. This updates page has a full English version too.

Clearer information about JaTy’s free features

We revised feature descriptions and website copy to explain free access more clearly. Chats, hearts, matching, browsing profiles and search are available without paying. You do not have to guess whether “free dating site” means only the first step or also the experience of continuing to meet people.

For you, that means a straightforward choice: focus on the person who interests you. Their profile, shared topics and your wish to talk matter more than choosing a paid option. Clearer descriptions help explain that principle before you start using the site.

We also refined messages and translations. Understandable language is part of a convenient service, especially when you are returning to dating after a break or trying to meet someone online for the first time. We want the step from reading about a feature to using it to feel simple.

2025

AI becomes part of the JaTy ecosystem

In 2025, we brought artificial intelligence into the JaTy ecosystem. This marked another step in developing an independent Polish dating site: using new technology to support a place built for real people and their connections. AI has a practical purpose here, helping us work on the quality of the space where you meet.

On JaTy, we use AI to support moderation and help address spam, attempted scams and content that breaks the rules. These tools help us deal with problems that get in the way of using the site. Our direction is straightforward: more room for meaningful connections and fewer experiences that discourage people from continuing to meet others.

We see introducing AI as part of developing the whole service. Profile presentation, convenient conversations, understandable rules and tools supporting moderation all contribute to the same user experience. Technology is useful when it serves that experience. When we talk about artificial intelligence on a dating site, we focus on its practical role in JaTy’s everyday operation.

You decide who interests you, whom you talk to and whether you would like to meet. AI supports the service, while people build connections through humour, curiosity and the time they give each other. We combine this direction with what matters to JaTy: independence and access to dating features without paid plans.

December 2022 · an earlier improvement

Larger photo files when completing your profile

In an earlier update, we increased the file size allowed by the photo upload form. Pictures from a phone can take up considerable space. A higher limit removes some situations where you would otherwise need to prepare a smaller copy before adding a chosen photo to your profile.

Photos can show something about you: a smile, an interest or how you enjoy spending your free time. Together with a few specific sentences in your description, they give another person more starting points for a conversation. That is why making a profile easier to complete matters to us.

Improvements to mobile chat and touch controls

JaTy’s earlier updates also include improvements to the mobile chat layout and touch interaction with the message field and emoji picker. These concern everyday use: writing on a small screen, tapping controls and moving through a conversation. An update does not have to be a major launch to make a difference to someone using the site.

Today, conversations remain one of the main reasons to try JaTy. A heart can be the beginning, but exchanging messages helps you discover shared humour, interests and expectations. As we develop the site, we keep that journey in mind: from noticing a profile to a conversation you want to continue.
